filetype:pdf
by onlinelife on Oct.18, 2009, under Personal interest
Next time you’re surfing Google, try this:
Search for your keyword or keyphrase and then add “filetype:pdf“.
Example: “writing articles filetype:pdf”
Essentially, it shows you all results that are in a PDF file type. Reason why this rocks: Many awesome whitepapers are in PDF form only and viewing a PDF file in HTML extrapolation doesn’t always look right.
Managing local settings
by onlinelife on Oct.16, 2009, under Personal interest
Sometimes it is nice to be able to configure Django settings for a single host and not have tons of conflicts in the next svn up, I personally use this solution as the settings. py Django only Python code. In the last line of the file that I am not one:
from local_settings import *
It is, as I mixed for the importation of local_settings.py and obtains each global symbol in the current namespace, so I have all the options to override. An example would be the configuration of the global settings.py used as SQLite database backend for the project, but in the production environment database_ * override options in the local_settings.py. This is also true for caching – not many developers run a PostgreSQL and memcached on your mobile.

GameSpot editors’ review
by onlinelife on Oct.14, 2009, under Personal interest
The story in most Mario games boils down to three things: Princess Peach is ransom fodder, the Mushroom Kingdom residents are hopeless at damage control, and Luigi treads that fine line between hero and zero. But though these elements have been in one combination or another in just about every Mario game for more than two decades, Nintendo has almost always managed to put some new spin on the classic Mario formula to keep the games fun and interesting. Case in point: the recently released Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, a fun and funny action role-playing game for the Nintendo DS that tosses Mario’s longtime nemesis, Bowser, into the action as a playable character. The odd coupling of hero and surly shelled villain–who you just know is chomping at the bit to smash the mustachioed plumber–makes for not only comedy gold, but also a complete gold-star experience that’s definitely deserving of your time and money.

What kinds of gamers
by onlinelife on Oct.08, 2009, under online game
What kinds of gamers are you targeting Most Likely? Do you think it will be appealing to both hardcore and casual gamers?
Chris: The great aspect of Nostale: Global is that it appeals to a wide range of gamers. We classify this game as a cute MMO. I personally like the more hardcore type games, but the first time I played Nostale: Global I was hooked on The Game play and the overall feel. Casual gamers tell us that they like it Because it does not take ages to get into The Game and that they can just have fun with it for a short time and then move on. On the other side of the coin, our hardcore gamers tell us they like the fact that if they want to be involved for hours at a time exploring the various maps and being part of the ever-expanding community, then they have plenty of opportunities in Nostale: Global.
