These days users can be in the Danish capital Copenhagen to discover an unusual vehicle: a camouflaged prototype of the new Volvo S60. The mysterious car is used in Denmark to test a new collision warning system with automatic emergency braking function in practice. The system can detect pedestrians who walk on the road and avoid collisions at speeds below 25 km / h – even if the driver does not respond.

Several factors tested
More than ten years has been working on the new system, experiments were run in the world. “Factors such as traffic behavior course, different road conditions and changing weather conditions have been investigated. We can also use the information from the real traffic tests for modern computer simulations, “said Thomas Broberg, a security expert at Volvo Car Corporation.
